Our Annual Meeting of the Association went well, and we elected some new board members. Below is a list of the Prairie Village Homes Association Board of Directors:

We also welcomed Wes Jordan, Chief of Police for the City of Prairie Village who gave a safety presentation for the residents that were in attendance.
* Spoke about crime and tips to help keep our neighborhood safer
* Leave outside lights on at night; lock doors (house and cars)
* Identify serial numbers of electronics
* Know your neighbors - makes it easier to identify who doesn't belong in the neighborhood
* Crime Prevention Officer (Matt Boggs) will come and look at your house (for free) and identify weak spots
* House Watch Program (free) where officers will watch your home while you are out of town
* D.A.R.E. Program still active
* Non-emergency number, 24hours per day - 913.642.5151

Upcoming Arbor Day ceremony honoring Jim Hanson

The City of Prairie Village is honoring Jim Hanson this Arbor Day for his many contributions to his neighborhood and city.

Jim was an active member of our Prairie Village Homes Association.

The ceremony will be held at Porter Park, on Saturday April 30, 2011 beginning at 10am.

An American elm has been planted in his honor.
